Terms of Service

Sofrito is provided for personal, non-commercial use. You may cook recipes, save them, share recipes you author, and use the features we offer. Please don't reverse-engineer, attack, or abuse the service.

When you share a recipe with the Sofrito community:

  You confirm it is your own or your family’s recipe, and that you didn’t copy it from a cookbook, magazine, website, or product package.
• ·
  You grant B.R.A.I.N. Solutions, LLC a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to edit, translate, and publish it in the app and on the website, including to other users.
• ·
  We review every submission and may edit, reject, or remove content at our discretion. Each confirmation is recorded with the wording you agreed to and when.
• ·
  There is no place in Sofrito for offensive, hateful, sexual, harassing or dangerous content. We remove it, and an install that shares it can’t share again.
• ·
  Recipes you import from websites stay in your personal collection. Sofrito keeps a link to the original page and never shares them with the community.

Reporting. Use “Report a problem” on any recipe, or “Report this answer” in Chef Sofrito, to tell us about anything offensive, unsafe or wrong, including what Sofrito’s AI wrote. We review reports within 24 hours. You can also hide every recipe from a community cook on your phone.

Copyright concerns. If you believe a recipe in Sofrito copies your work, email support@getsofrito.com with the recipe’s name, a link to or description of your original, and how to reach you. We’ll review it and promptly remove content that infringes.

Sofrito uses third-party AI services to help generate recipe text, cooking answers, and imagery. AI output can be wrong. Treat AI cooking advice as a suggestion, not a medical or nutritional prescription. Always verify dietary safety against a trusted source if you have a medical condition.

Purchases, cancellations and refunds. Sofrito Plus is sold through Apple's App Store. Apple charges your Apple Account, renews the subscription automatically unless you turn off renewal at least 24 hours before the period ends, and handles cancellations and refunds under its own terms; Sofrito can't issue refunds itself. To cancel: Settings → your name → Subscriptions on your iPhone. To ask for a refund: reportaproblem.apple.com. If Apple refunds a purchase, the Plus features it paid for end.

Fair use of AI. AI features have daily limits so Sofrito stays affordable for everyone. We may limit or suspend AI access for automated or abusive use.

Sofrito's dietary filters are a convenience, not medical advice. Ingredient data, allergen tagging, and nutrition facts are curated from public sources (including USDA FoodData Central) but can contain errors. If you have a severe allergy or a medical condition, always cross-check ingredient lists before cooking.

Sofrito participates in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com. As an Amazon Associate, we earn from qualifying purchases made through store links in the app. This never changes the price you pay. We disclose this because we believe you should know.

Once you leave Sofrito (e.g., a store link opens Amazon), you are subject to that service's own terms and privacy policy.

Sofrito is provided "as is" without warranties of any kind. We do our best to keep it working, but we can't guarantee uninterrupted service, error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Sofrito and its creators are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the app or website.

The iPhone app is licensed (not sold) to you. As required by Apple, the Apple-supplied Standard End User License Agreement (EULA) governs the iPhone app in addition to these terms. Where the two conflict, the Apple EULA controls for the parts of the app that originate from Apple's distribution.

These terms are governed by the laws of the jurisdiction where Sofrito's developer is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be resolved in that jurisdiction's competent courts unless a mandatory consumer-protection law in your country grants you the right to bring it elsewhere.

We may update these terms. Continued use of Sofrito after changes means you accept them. Material changes will be noted in the app's changelog.
